In a city called Olderia, probably in the United States, lives a man who people calls him “Broke Den”. Dan lives in an apartment with himself, his girlfriend, Lily left him a long time ago. Den isn’t happy with his life because he is drowning in a pile of debt. He is constantly being contacted from the collectors saying that he should pay his debt as soon as possible. Unfortunately for him, it’s already past 2 months since the day he should be paying his debt over. He also lost his job because the company he worked on went bankrupt and he had to resign either way. Now Den is just a lonely broke man living in anxiety knowing he will lose everything, including his teddy bear. Or is he?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Den is playing games on his janky computer, a bright but not-so-smart idea illuminates Den’s thought, even though he is kinda stupid. So what was the idea he’s thinking about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Screw it.” He immediately stopped his gaming session and straight went on to a graphical application on his computer to design a poster. He then later can be seen at a local print shops printing his “well made” poster. Dan isn’t really pleased at how he designed his own poster, but he thought that it’ll still be enough. Actually, he printed a TONS of posters, like he really spend that 100 bucks to print these instead of paying for his foods for his last day at his apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After that, people started wondering what this man (Den obviously) is doing putting posters all over the place including poles, walls, trees, the streets, another poster about a missing person, and even at a homeless person while they’re sleeping. People get weirded out by his action but nonetheless, some did actually come up to see what Den’s posters is all about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Hey there! Need help?
I am more than happy to do anything as you told me to do! As long as you paid me money of course! But really, I can do anything! At least try to, I guess.
Handyman? Sure! Lawn Mower? Anytime! Emotional support animal? As I said earlier!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Call me! 727-69X-XXXX Den’s picture crossing his arms here<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n – Den”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some people recognize who Den really is, and they’re a bit relieved that he actually now did something to make his life better and useful for the society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After 2 days posting up these posters on both the real world and the internet world, Den is worried that no one cares about his poster and that he literally just wasted 100 bucks on posters. Until when he is about to give up, he got a call from someone. “Ay, this Den?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Moments later\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Alright Den, me Dukes and so\u2026 anything right?” Den nods. Dukes looks frowny here and there. “Alright. You see that bird nest up that roof? Since that came out o nowhere, rats started breedin’ and multiplyin’ all over the goddamn place. I need you to get them crapove. Hope you’re cheaper than these c’rupt mess cleaners.” Den nods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Just like that, he got his first job! Although Dukes’ story didn’t really make much sense for him, I mean someone’s still gotta do the job right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Den grabbed a ladder from Dukes’ backyard and started climbing on top of the house’s roof. Whoa! Den almost threw up! Apparently there’s a lot of bird carcasses up here. Most of them are already 100% just bones. And.. rat eggs? Meh those are probably bird eggs, Den’s thought probably, as he got a bit smarter. Surprising how the smell doesn’t get inside the house but it is pretty gnarly here. The birds probably came here to check what’s going on with the birds dying and ends up being eaten by the rats. Sorry for the extra detail tho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anyway enough talking, Den cleans up the nest and threw it into a plastic bag. He cleans up the rest of the gunk with some soap he brought in and hopefully it will remove the stank from this hellhole. And for some reason, he stopped hearing the rats’ squeaking noises. Didn’t really took him that long. He climbs down from the roof and Dukes let a big smile out and Den’s guess is that Dukes is happy with his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dukes gave a round of applause for Den. “Amazing. Them noises are gone. You even let us smell that godly tasteful awesome smell going around in our home. Homies will be happy tonite.” Den is happy that Dukes is happy. “So, how much ey?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Den isn’t really the kind of person who ask for as much money as possible, heck, he doesn’t even know how much he should name his price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Den shrugs and said “20?”. “Holy\u2026 Are you for real my guy? Dukes asks, and Den lets out another shrug, following with a nod, again. “I- I don’t really know what to say! You the one! Thank you my man!” Dukes hands him the 20 dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 20 dollars is more than enough to feed him for 5 days or 6. But he’s not sure if he’s going to pay out all of his debts with this job style. But he’s going pretty with it, so no problems for now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n While driving home, Den decides to stop to a little coffee shop. It’s near his house, but not too far away and he wants to go get some coffee and some fresh air for real. While waiting in the queue, he notices a group of people what seems to be a family moving in to their new home. They are moving things in out of the truck they’re carrying them in. They look exhausted by the way, so Den decided to take a moment and help them out of morality cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Need some help?” Den asks. “Uhm\u2026 You don’t have to-” “I can help!” The man says, before getting cut off by Den. “Uh\u2026 okay..? Maybe you can help us move in these stuff?” The man ask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Not even a second, every single thing that was in the truck vanished. They all went inside the man’s new home. Placed accordingly and aesthetically. Looks like Den knows how to decorate too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n The man was amazed by his work, even though he didn’t get a chance to look at what Den is doing, as if it was all magic. The man couldn’t do much but thanked him. He also gave Den some 50 bucks for his work, even though he didn’t asked for any.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Nonono! Don’t give it back! Just keep it, I appreciate it by the way.” The man, happy. “Now get out of my house will ya?” The man shutting the door close in front of DEn<\/p>\n\n\n\n Den takes a moment to reminisce what he had done to this family. He felt great, too. And back to his house he goes! After a long day of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While eating leftovers in his dining table, alone, Den scrolls around on social media, when he sees Dukes account posting something about him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “YO u guys would NOT believe me. a funny silly man helped me out of the STUPEED rats making a living in my house. and guess what, 20 dollars! THATS IT! i cant still believe it. y’all really should hire him for something rly idk.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n There’s also a picture of the poster Den made. He also saw that the post has 727 likes. Is this a new beginning after an ending for Den?<\/p>\n\n\n\n The tomorrow comes and Den is feeling very well rested. But where is his phone? Didn’t he put his phone down at the nightstand right next to him? He looks around for a minute or two and finally found his phone, right under his bed. Apparently his phone rang so much that it fell out of the nightstand. But why did it rang so much? Did his ex-gf calls him back or something?<\/p>\n\n\n\n He unlocks his phone, and to his surprise, many people has called him! Some even sent him messages, such as they need help and etc. This obviously made him excited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fast forward, so far, he has helped many people like, doing their piles of dishes, paint some walls, be there for them, you know what’s, and many others! And it hasn’t even been a week! So far, he has made over 6000 dollars! Notably, people felt guilt of paying Den a small amount of money for his work. So they insisted paying a reasonable price for his work. Den is very happy. This is 80% of the debt he has, and he should be able to pay it in less than a month. And the best part? He could actually start a new life with this. He even got enough money to take care of himself enough to the point he looks like a fine man again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although some people didn’t like his work either because they hate him or Den did make a mistake while doing his jobs, he absolutely didn’t care! He even made a lot of friends along the way. And after a considerable amount of time, people started to call him “Den the HanDenMen” instead of “Broke Den”. Pretty silly. The worst thing that had happened to him is getting a bunch of swear words thrown at him because people don’t dare to mess really bad with Den considering how many people supported him in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While taking a photo of a scenery around the park near his client’s house, a girl accidentally bumped into him, and made them both fell down. Thankfully, both them and the equipment Den uses is okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now here’s the thing. Both of them got a feeling for each other even after the first sight. Romantic huh? The girl introduced herself and her name is Alice. They both chit-chatted for a few minutes and then gave each phone numbers to each others. To you know, get in touch, or something even better? Hell yeah this is getting romantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Let’s take a break.”, says Den. Pretty understandable considering how much work he had done to other people. “He’s the savior of this society!”, people says. The public gave him some time to take a break, and it was satisfying for Den. He get to experience the great things he had lost in his life, essentially getting them all back to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Den is now dating with Alice. They both had the same interest – gaming. Surprising. Since Den is now free of debts, he can now do anything he wants freely, well not killing people at least. He could get him and his girlfriend, Alice to a fancy restaurant that has the most expensive menu on the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fortunately, Alice is a faithful girl that gave her dedication to Den. When he needs help, she’ll always be there for him no matter what.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He clearly just turned his life 180\u00b0 all the way through because of a smart decision he made using his no longer stupid brain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n FAST forward even more 4 years later, we can find Den and his, now wife, Alice living happily together in a 4 story mansion. They’re expecting a new child to be delivered within 7 months, and they already planned on naming the kid “Aiden”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But what about his job? Well that was years ago, of course he doesn’t want to live his life as a anything-can-do butler. It would be too horrible for him to do all of that. Instead, he now owns and runs a business. A business about creating robots with AI that can help people finish up their daily to humanely impossible to do task that is. Pretty scary, but, wow, to hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The business is booming with hundreds of thousands of investor supporting this business. It’s basically impossible to go bankrupt at this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Den started reminiscing about what he has done to himself and the people around him. He is happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The moral of the story? Sometimes, doing something supposedly stupid will not always lead to stupid prizes, instead it will lead to a desirable outcome when you do it right when you gain enough experience along the way as you keep doing it either correctly or not right enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Don’t be like the creator of this story, be Den.
